Becoming centered is a skill that anyone can learn. Being centered is all about becoming balanced, resilient and optimistic. Our signature 4-StepsTM approach is designed to teach you these skills through learning and practice. The 4-StepsTM are:
- Mindfulness: Becoming aware.
- Compassion: Being helpful and kind.
- Insight: Recognizing our active beliefs.
- Reframing: Shifting our beliefs to something more reasonable and balanced.
These are all skills that anyone can learn!
Two ideas sit underneath all four steps, and they are worth knowing from the start. The first is that your emotions are not random. They are a direct reflection of your current level of well-being, which is why they change when your beliefs change. The second is that every difficult emotion, however complicated it feels, comes down to one of three themes: trust, value, or acceptance. Trust is the belief that you can handle what comes your way. Value is the belief that you matter. Acceptance is being able to acknowledge what is, including what you cannot control. You will meet all three again as you go.
