Mindfulness Exercise
All Real World Practices
Bring mindful awareness into the moments that make up your day.
BookmarkAbout This Practice
Meditation develops awareness in a quiet, dedicated setting. Real-world practice brings that awareness into everyday life—while you walk, drive, complete a chore, speak with someone, or move through any ordinary moment. This exercise gathers a range of real-world practices into one guided audio so you can strengthen your ability to be present wherever you are.
Follow the recording and practise directing your attention in different ways. You might open your awareness broadly while driving, feel the contact of your feet while walking, or give someone your full attention during a conversation. Choose the practices that suit the moment and return to them throughout your day. With repetition, mindful attention becomes less separate from daily life and more a part of how you meet it.

Ways to Practise
Real-World Practice
Use this recording during ordinary activities when it is safe to give some attention to the practice. Follow its prompts while walking, doing a familiar chore, waiting, or pausing between activities. You can also practise without the recording: choose one part of your present experience—your breathing, your body, your surroundings, or the person in front of you—and return your attention to it whenever your mind wanders.
Micro Practice: Just three breaths…
- Breath — Pause and arrive in the present moment.
- Breath — Notice what is happening within you and around you.
- Breath — Choose where to place your attention as you continue.
