Meditations are simply mental training practices.  You can learn and improve upon various skills depending on the type of meditation you do. The more you practice, the better your skills will become.

How to Meditate

There are a lot of superstitions being taught about how to meditate.  We stick to what the science tells us.

Remember that you are not learning to “control” or “calm” anything, but rather you are learning to be aware of what is going on around you and within you. With this awareness, you can start to move away from auto-pilot to awareness, and this gives you the ability to also move away from the compulsion towards choice. With choice comes freedom!

We have categorized our mental exercises into several groupings:

    • One collection is grouped by type. So if you want to do affirmation or journaling exercises, for example, you can find all of them there.
    • Another collection aligns with our 4Stepsâ„¢ approach and is categorized accordingly. This is geared toward those of you who want to work on a specific step in the process.
    • Another collection is based on time and geared toward those with limited schedules.
    • Finally, we have the latest exercises organized in their own section so you can notice if we added any new ones.

Following the meditation practice, we also included a micro exercise/practice on each meditation page. These are little mini-exercises that you can fit into your day-to-day life.  They take less than a minute to do. They remind you what is important and can center you “in” the moment.  They all center around a three-breath approach. You can do them as many times as needed.

Practicing consistently is the key to mastering new skills.
