Real World Exercise: Mindful Personal Hygiene

 

Being mindful in the real world is our ultimate goal.  When we brush our teeth or take a shower or bath, that is a great time to practice being present.  You focus on what is around you as you are tending to your personal hygiene needs.  You consciously remain aware of all aspects of your activity.  When you notice that your mind has switched to auto-pilot, then you gently guide it back to what you are doing.

Practicing consistently is the key to mastering new skills.
