Real World Exercise: Mindful Driving
Being mindful in the real world is our ultimate goal. Driving is a great way to practice being present. You focus on what is around you as you are driving. You consciously remain aware of all aspects of your driving. When you notice that your mind has switched to auto-pilot, then you gently guide it back to the activity of driving.
There is no set time for any of these practices. Be mindful for the whole time you conduct this activity or for part of the activity. Set your intent at the beginning and stick to it.
Practicing consistently is the key to mastering new skills.
